A Christmas Poem

With open hearts we await
A miracle sublime.
Instead let us all create
A world of love each time
We smile into someone's eyes
Or lend a helping hand,
Give comfort when someone cries
And gently understand.
We can touch another's life
In simple heartfelt ways
And move beyond hurt and strife,
Offering love each day,
For only through love do we heal,
And so this prayer I pray,
That whatever my kindred feel
May I ease their hearts today.
